Volunteering

We welcome volunteers all year round! Our volunteers help to enhance and extend library services and programs, and help us to meet and exceed our goals and objectives by providing enthusiasm, added talents, and a fresh perspective. Volunteers are recognized as representatives of the library by the public and are held to the same standards as paid staff.

There are a limited number of volunteer openings, in a variety of departments. Volunteers are strongly encouraged to make a weekly commitment for a minimum of two (2) hours per week for an extended period of time. All volunteers receive orientation and training, and work with staff members to enhance the services we provide. Volunteers are considered “at will” workers. Both the volunteer and the library have the right to terminate the volunteer’s association with the library at any time.

If you are interested in volunteering, you can pick up an application at the library or print one and stop by the circulation desk to see what openings we might have. Applications will not be accepted electronically.
