The Liberty Lane entrance to the library parking lot will be closed for crosswalk repair on Thursday, October 18th and Friday, October 19th. The library will remain open during this time. Patrons may enter the library parking lot via the exit on Independence Way. We ask that caution be exercised when using this exit for entering the library parking lot for it requires a very sharp turn. Patrons may also park along Liberty Lane. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Birthday Book Program

Want a unique way to celebrate a child’s birthday? Participate in the Norfolk Public Library’s Birthday Book Program. Instead of a birthday focused solely on sweets and gifts, the Birthday Book Program gives you the chance to make a lasting gift to the library in a child’s name.Happy Birthday

For a donation of $15, a parent or child may choose a hardcover book from a selection of recently ordered titles. A bookplate commemorating the child’s birthday and acknowledging the donor will be placed inside the book. In addition, the birthday boy or girl will receive a thank you bookmark and will be given the opportunity to be the first to borrow the book.

The monies received for these books will go into a fund to purchase more birthday books. The program is self-supporting and ever-changing as new books are bought throughout the year.

At your convenience, you may schedule a time to select a birthday book by calling Marissa Antosh, Senior Youth Services Librarian, at 508-528-3380 x5 or emailing [email protected]
