Page Turners Book Club

An afternoon book group that reads fiction titles with the occasional non-fiction title. This group runs September through June. Registration is not required and drop-ins are welcome. Each meeting we will be discussing a different chef or cuisine. Copies of the books we will be discussing will be available at the circulation desk. Join other local foodies to talk about what you made, what you liked or did not like, get recipes, and more! Slightly Literary Book Subscription Box
Location: Lobby
Pick up the second week of each month beginning on Tuesday
A fun, themed book box for adults! Each box will have a themed book(s) and some goodies. You get to keep the goodies, but the books do need to be returned.
Boxes will be available for pick up the 2nd Tuesday of each month and you will have one week to pick up. You must have a valid SAILS library card to register.
May: Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage month
June: Pride Month (books written by, or with characters that are, LGBTQIA+)

Book Talk with Ted Reinstein

Join Ted Reinstein as he discusses his new book, Travels Through the Heart and Soul of New England.

Watercolor Meet Ups

Do you enjoy painting with watercolors?
This group is for adult watercolor painters, all levels welcome, to gather together while painting your own projects. Join us on Tuesday afternoons for a relaxed painting session where we can share techniques, ideas, tips and projects. Bring with you your supplies and what you’re currently working on. Please note that there will be no instruction given.

Getting Started with Streaming: How to Stream Video Gameplay

Join us for an interactive workshop designed for the aspiring streamer. This event will guide you through the basics of streaming video games on Twitch using OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), including software installation, channel setup, and choosing the right equipment to meet your needs.
This workshop is designed for ages 13+. Parental participation is required for participants under age 13. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop (MacBook or PC ONLY).

Mike Tougias: The Sinking of the Indianapolis

Join Mike Tougias for a presentation on The Sinking of the USS Indianapolis.
The Sinking of the USS Indianapolis is a harrowing story of survival. The sinking of Indianapolis resulted in the greatest single loss of life at sea from a single ship in the history of the US Navy. Tougias will also discuss why certain people survive against all odds.
Mike Tougias is a NY Times bestselling author of 30 books for adults and 8 for young adults. Tougias’ book The Finest Hours, a true story of the Coast Guard’s Greatest Rescue, was made into a Disney movie starring Chris Pine and Casey Affleck.
Living History Portrayal: Jane Austen

Laura Rocklyn will perform a living history portrayal of Jane Austen.
The year is 1815, and Jane Austen has just returned from a visit to the Prince Regent’s London residence. The honor of this invitation prompts her to reminisce about the events that led the daughter of a country clergyman to a position of such prominence. She shares her thoughts and feelings about her novels and how their publication changed her life for ever.
There will be scripted performance which runs about forty minutes after which there will be twenty minutes for Q&A.
