Under the supervision of the Director, the Associate Director performs supervisory, administrative, and professional work assisting the Library Director to implement the goals and programs of the library and oversee daily operations. Performs all other related work as required.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
– Performs substantial accounting responsibilities as applies to all relevant Town accounts, warrants, invoices, and vendors.
– Responsible for marketing library programs and services which involves the utilization of social media, newsletters, and other forms of community outreach.
– Prepares and submits financial and statistical reports to the Commonwealth.
– Prepares fiscal year budget for consideration by the Town as well as Friends organization.
– Responsible for the planning and facilitating of educational and cultural adult programming.
– Performs website updates for all library services; utilizes web-based email and performs calendar scheduling.
– Develops and manages the library collection.
– Executes passport processing.
– Assists with personnel management. Coordinates staff training.
– Executes projects assigned by the Director or self-directed.
– Assumes additional responsibilities in the absence of the Director.
– Performs similar or related work as required, directed, or as situation dictates.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school; minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible experience in a public library, including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Schedule:
