Story Times

 Baby Time

Mondays, 10:30 – 11:15am. No session on 9/9.

Ages 0-16 months with an adult. 

Music, play and stories for babies and their caregivers. 

 

Tales for Goslings

Mondays, 11:30 – 12pm. No session on 9/9.

Age 0–5 with an adult.

An interactive program for babies, toddlers, and caregivers with books, music, and rhymes galore!

 

Fairy Tale Story Time

Tuesdays, 1:00 – 1:30pm

Ages 2-5 with an adult. 

A story time program that will focus on everything fairy tale! Stories and crafts for the fairy tale lover in your house. 

 

On My Own

Tuesdays, 2:30 – 3:00pm

Age 3 and up.

An independent story time experience with books, songs, and a hands-on activity. Caregivers must stay in the building, but are encouraged to let children attend the program alone.

 

 

Multi-Age Story Time

Thursdays, 2:30 – 3pm

Age 2 and up with an adult.

An interactive drop-in story time with songs, games, and a hands-on activity.

 

Pajama Story Time

Wednesdays, 6:30 – 7pm. 

Age 0 – 5 with an adult.

Wear your pajamas and bring your favorite toy. Join Miss Meghan for this new evening program of stories and songs!

Repeating Programs

Ed Morgan Sing-Along

First Tuesday of each month, beginning in October.

10:30-11:15am, All ages are welcome.

Join Ed Morgan for a sing-along with great music and dancing. A splendid time for everyone! Caregivers must remain with children. Sponsored by the Friends. 

Wiggly Ones

Wednesdays, 2 – 3pm. Registration is required.

Ages 2-5 with an adult. 

10:30-11:15am, All ages are welcome.

A program that will involve lots of gross stuff that you aren’t allowed to play with at home! Please list any food allergies your child might have when you register or contact Courtney Allen, [email protected]

 

Toddler Time

Third Tuesday of each month, 10:30 – 11:15am. Sessions begin in October. No meeting in December or April. Click on the date to register for that session. 

Age 12-24 months with an adult.

Preschool Play and Learn

Fourth Tuesday of each month, 10:30 – 11:30am. No meetings in October, December, or February. Click on the date to register for that session. 

Age 2-5 with an adult.

A playgroup for preschoolers and their caregivers. Activities may include tactile play, movement, stories, and crafts. Sponsored by Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Program. 

 

Read and Rise

Thursdays, September 12th – October 17th, 10:30 – 11:30am. No session on October 3rd.

Register here, only if you are able to commit to the 5 sessions (scheduled vacations and illnesses are an exception).  

This FREE 5 session playgroup/conversation series is designed to empower families to support children’s literacy development. Children and parents will be actively engaged in books, activities and hands on materials that focus on literacy.

Each family will go home with a different children’s book every week to keep and add to their library at home!

Creative Dance with Millis Dance Theatre

Fridays, October 4th – November 8th. Registration is required. Preference will be given to new students first. 

Register here, beginning September 20th. 

Boys and girls ages 2-4.

Children will learn the fundamentals of dance including beginner dance steps set to spirited music. The class offered by Millis Dance Theatre will focus on creative expression through open-ended movement, such as dancing with ribbons, scarves, hula-hoops etc. This lively class is offered to children who have danced before as well as those with no prior experience and will increase flexibility, coordination and musicality.

Children leave this class feeling happy and accomplished!

Caregivers do not need to stay in the room, but MUST stay in the building.

Attire: comfortable clothes (leotard and ballet slippers optional) 

 

Secret Lives of Owls

Thursday, September 26th, 4-5pm, registration is required. Registration opens 9/2.

Ages 3-8 with a caregiver.

Children will learn about the incredible owls of our forests here in New England. Topics will include habitat requirements for our local birds, nesting and hunting habits, and how owl parents care for their young. Each child will create their very own owl out of clay. During this program, children will hear a story and listen and sing along with the different owl calls. Each participant will go home with a clay owl they have created and decorated.

 

Touch a Truck/Fill a Truck

Saturday, October 5th, 1-3pm. Open to all ages, no registration is required.

Touch a Truck: Get a close up look at cars and trucks from around the community and the people who operate them!

Fill a Truck: Please bring with you a nonperishable food item which we will donate to Norfolk Food Pantry. Please make sure the item is still within its expiration date. They ask that you do not bring boxed pasta or beans.

 

Monster STEM

Monday, October 28th, 1-2pm. Registration is required

Ages 3-8 with a caregiver.

Join Ms. Gina and Ms. Jen for our Monster STEM program. Learn about polymers and chemistry by making your own slime and experimenting with other hands-on science activities.

Challenge yourself with our monster math games and be a detective with our pumpkin observation station. Perfect for 3 to 8 year-olds and their parents, these science-based activities are all Halloween-themed.

 

Meet the Author: Alex Lataille

Thursday, November 7th, 6-7pm. All ages are welcome, please register here. Registration opens October 1st. 

Please join us for the launch of Alex Lataille’s new book Spring’s Rainbow. You will get to meet this bright spirited, aspiring author who is only 7 years old. 

There will be a book reading and you will hear his inspirational story of how his dreams of writing books has become a reality.
