Author, therapist and dancer Arlyn Halpern shares her route from early life challenges to spiritual abundance in her book “Dancing Into the Light”. With vivid imagery and skillfully woven memories she takes her readers on a journey through Israel, Sweden, and India, then back to the states where she embarks on in-depth Buddhist study and practice with a Tibetan Buddhist Master, where “the teachings become a knowing rather than an intellectual exercise.”
Her lifelong passion for dance and search for spiritual truth carries her, and us, on the universal path to greater wisdom, self-acceptance, and compassion. Arlyn Hope Halpern is a psychotherapist in private practice. She holds a Master’s in Dance and previously was a dance instructor at Naropa Institute in Boulder Colorado. She began the study of Buddhism under the tutelage of Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche in the early 1970s. She resides outside of Boston with her husband.
